1 year agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (hip) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday for a contest against the New York Yankees on the Fourth of July. Hays is dealing with a bruised left hip and will miss his second straight game. The 27-year-old plans on hitting in the cages on Tuesday, though, so there's a good chance he'll return to the lineup on Wednesday. Aaron Hicks will get the start in left field on Tuesday and will bat sixth against Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt. Hays has been very productive at the plate for Baltimore in 2023, hitting an impressive .312 (87-for-279), but his counting stats have left something to be desired for fantasy managers. He's produced eight home runs, 34 RBI, two stolen bases and 42 runs scored in 301 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
