Breece Hall 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Potential Superstar Working His Way Back From ACL Injury
1 year agoNew York Jets running back Breece Hall (knee) flashed legitimate superstar potential during his 2022 rookie campaign. Unfortunately for Hall and his fantasy owners, his breakout season was cut short due to a season-ending ACL injury to his left knee in New York's Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos. Although his time on the field was limited in 2022, Hall left little doubt as to his elite fantasy potential and finished the year as the RB8 in average fantasy points per game in PPR leagues (16.4). There are legitimate concerns around Hall entering the 2023 season, however, as the ACL injury he suffered in October generally carries a recovery time of nine to 12 months. While Hall has been activated off New York's PUP list and appears to be making strides in his recovery, his fantasy value was dealt a major blow when the Jets recently signed free agent RB Dalvin Cook, a talented back in his own right, that's rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the last four seasons. Assuming both of Gang Green's backs are healthy in 2023, this will likely be a timeshare situation that will be a nightmare for fantasy managers. Though Hall's talent makes him a desirable fantasy asset, Cook's presence significantly impedes his production upside in the short term.
