Chase Claypool Thinks Bears Offense Will Be Different
1 year agoChicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool, who is heading into his first full season in Chicago after being acquired in a trade midseason last year from the Pittsburgh Steelers, believes that the Bears offense will be much different in 2023. "I truly believe that this year from last year will be a night-and-day difference," Claypool said. "I think fans will be loving it next year." The Bears offense was ranked in the bottom 10 in scoring and yards in 2022, but quarterback Justin Fields has new weapons and a new No. 1 receiver in DJ Moore. Claypool is a big body with red-zone capabilities that should complement Moore and Darnell Mooney, but he had only 14 catches for 140 yards and no TDs in seven games with Chicago last year. The 24-year-old should improve with a better understanding of the offense, but he's likely to be the No. 3 wideout behind Moore and Mooney.
