Mike Jackson Making Strong Case To Remain A Regular
1 year agoSeattle Seahawks cornerback Mike Jackson seemed destined for a backup role despite a solid showing as a first-year starter in 2022 when the team selected Devon Witherspoon with the fifth overall pick in this year's NFL draft. However, Jackson is making a strong case to remain a regular on defense this year, perhaps as the third cornerback. The 26-year-old was working with the No. 1 defense in offseason practices with Tariq Woolen sidelined following arthroscopic knee surgery, and Jackson had the best spring of any player on the team, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Carroll called Jackson "almost dominant." In his first full season as a starter last year, Jackson had 75 tackles (63 solo), an interception, 12 passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 17 starts.
