Trevor Rogers Shut Down Through All-Star Break
1 year agoMiami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers (lat) will be shut down from throwing through the All-Star break and hopes to have a better timeline for a potential return from a partial tear in his right, non-throwing lat after that. Rogers has a long recovery ahead of him and hasn't pitched in a game since April 19, so fantasy managers in single-year leagues should probably go ahead and dump him to the waiver wire until we have a better idea of when he might be able to get back on a mound. The 25-year-old southpaw may be lucky to return to Miami's rotation by August. In his four starts for the Fish in April before his injury, Rogers had a 4.00 ERA (4.10 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, six walks and 19 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched.
