1 year agoSportsbooks around the country have pegged Martin Truex Jr. as the favorite to win Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway after very strong practice and qualifying sessions out of the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. During practice on Friday, Truex ranked inside the top five in all of the "lap-average" statistics (five-, 10-, 15-, and 20-lap average) and then he went out and qualified sixth on Saturday. Last year in this race, Truex had one of the strongest cars in the field and won each of the first two stages, but fell back some after the rain delay happened. Currently the Cup Series points leader, Truex has two wins already this year and could add a third this weekend. He won the Dover race back in May, and that is also a concrete race track similar to Nashville.--Jordan McAbee
