Justin Steele Looks Sharp On Saturday
1 year agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Justin Steele was asked to take the ball for the series opener in London on Saturday. The left-hander made easy work of the Cardinals lineup in this one. He carried a no-hit bid into the fifth inning before Jordan Walker delivered a leadoff single. Despite that, Steele threw six innings, allowing only one earned run, while matching a career-high with eight strikeouts. He holds a 2.62 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 70/18 K/BB ratio across 79 innings this season. His next matchup will be on Friday versus the Cleveland Guardians.
