Michael Wacha To Be Skipped Due To Shoulder Fatigue
1 year agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael Wacha (shoulder) is dealing with right-shoulder fatigue, according to manager Bob Melvin. The plan is for Wacha to skip one start and then return to the team's rotation. It's why the Padres are calling up rookie right-hander Matt Waldron from Triple-A El Paso to make his major-league debut in a start against the Washington Nationals on Saturday. If Wacha's arm is feeling better after skipping a start, he should be lined up to start on June 30 against the Cincinnati Reds. Wacha has excellent for the Friars in his first year in SD, going 7-2 with a 2.90 ERA (3.78 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, 23 walks and 69 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings over his 14 starts. Fantasy managers will be hoping to use him next week against the Reds.
