Cordarrelle Patterson To Take On Bigger Pass-Catching Role
1 year agoAtlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson is expected to take on a bigger pass-catching role with the offense next season. Last season, Patterson was forced into a larger rushing role and saw his totals in the passing game drop dramatically. Now, the Falcons have Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson who can do a majority of the work on the ground. That means, Patterson can get back to what he's best at, which is catching the football. In 2021, Patterson hauled in 52 receptions for 548 yards, and five touchdowns with the Falcons. It's uncertain if he'll be able to match those numbers again with two other backs in the mix. However, it sounds like Patterson is going to be a better PPR option than last season, but we'll see how the Falcons split up the playing time.
