Shohei Ohtani To Start At DH In All-Star Game
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani has automatically earned the starting DH spot in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle by being the leading American League vote-getter through Phase 1. Ohtani is truly a one-of-a-kind ballplayer that just does things that the vast majority of players just can't do on a baseball field. The 28-year-old two-way Japanese superstar has now made his third straight All-Star team and currently leads the league with 24 home runs, 58 RBI, a .993 OPS and 175 total bases. In addition, he's added 14 doubles, three triples, 10 stolen bases and 49 runs scored as a hitter in 74 games. As a pitcher, he's gone 6-3 with a 3.13 ERA (3.95 FIP), 1.04 WHIP, 37 walks and 117 K's in 89 innings over 15 starts. There's nothing he can't do.
