Ronald Acuna Jr. Qualifies For All-Star Game
1 year agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. automatically locked up his starting spot in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle by receiving the most total votes in Phase 1. It should come as no surprise, as Acuna continues to dazzle on a nightly basis as one of the best all-around players in the game. The 25-year-old Venezuelan has managed to stay healthy this year and is slashing an eye-opening .327/.403/.558 with a .961 OPS. He's currently leading the league in runs scored (63), stolen bases (31) and total bases (164) while also adding 15 home runs, 21 doubles, a triple and 46 RBI in 73 games and 335 plate appearances. He's been at his best so far in his sixth MLB season, and the All-Star selection this year will be his fourth total.
