Miguel Cabrera Getting A Breather Against Royals
1 year agoDetroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera will get the day off on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals in the series finale. The future Hall of Famer started seven of the team's last eight games and will take a regular day of rest in what is his final MLB season. The 40-year-old isn't of any use to fantasy managers in the final season of his storied career, as he's hitting just .233 (30-for-129) with one home run, nine doubles, 10 RBI and eight runs scored in 40 games played. The 12-time All-Star and two-time MVP has started to heat up in the month of June, though, going 12-for-37 (.324) with a homer, five doubles, three RBI and four runs in 12 games. Kerry Carpenter is serving as Detroit's DH on Wednesday and is batting third against Royals right-hander Brady Singer.
