Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick was a popular fantasy football sleeper heading into last season, but he suffered a major knee injury before Week 1 that held him out of the entire 2022 campaign. Heading into 2022, Patrick has more competition in his wide receiver room, but the Broncos offense could take a step forward, making him an intriguing deep league option.
Needless to say, his recovery should tell us all we need to know about whether he'll be on the fantasy football radar -- and we have the latest update on his status.
Is Patrick healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Tim Patrick Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Patrick (knee), who tore his ACL before the start of last season, was already participating in full-team drills during organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, leaving him on pace to be ready for the regular season opener on Sept. 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Patrick, who gained chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson before his injury last offseason, is the team's best blocker at the position.
He can also help head coach Sean Payton create mismatches when they use him in the slot. The 29-year-old doesn't expect to be worked back slowly into the offense. His return will be huge for Wilson and the Broncos offense as a whole, but Patrick may struggle to produce consistently in fantasy with Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and potentially Marvin Mims Jr. in front of him.
Tim Patrick 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Patrick has an uphill battle to see playing time, he should be slightly on the fantasy radar in deep formats. If Wilson and the Broncos' offense bounce back after a horrific 2022 season, he could be one of the top "handcuff" wide receivers in fantasy football.
The 29-year-old is running out of time to be ultra-productive and sounds motivated to exceed expectations this season. "I've always got something to prove," Patrick said. "I think my whole mindset is just being a better version of myself. I see some of the stuff you guys say and handicap your first year (after injury) and then second year is the best year. I throw all that [stuff] out the window."
Patrick currently carries a WR88 ADP, so fantasy managers in shallower leagues don't need to worry about drafting him. Just keep an out eye on waivers as the season progresses.
