Diontae Johnson Spends Time Away From Team
1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson looked sharp during the team's mandatory minicamp last week, but his choice to work out in Florida with his trainer for most of the offseason workouts might not have been the best idea, according to The Athletic's Mark Kaboly. Kaboly thinks Johnson should have been with the team more to develop more chemistry with second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett. The 26-year-old pass-catcher caught 86 passes for 882 yards, but he failed to find the end zone at all and could see a decrease in workload moving forward in this offense. Johnson had over 1,000 receiving yards in 2021 and he could bounce back if Pickett shows improvement in Year 2, but there isn't one thing that he really does well at the position. Consider him a low-end WR3 heading into 2023 fantasy drafts.
