Charlie Blackmon Thinks He Can Return Sooner Than Expected
1 year agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hand) landed on the 10-day injured list on June 11 after playing a week with a right-hand fracture, but he has felt better after treatment while using a bone stimulator. Blackmon has told manager Bud Black that he thinks he can return quicker than expected. Barring any setbacks once Blackmon resumes baseball activities, he could return to the team by the middle of July. The 36-year-old left-handed hitter has hit .265 (56-for-211) so far this year with 14 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 26 RBI and 34 runs scored in 242 plate appearances and 56 games. Blackmon doesn't really run anymore, but he'll return to a regular role for the Rockies at some point next month.
