1 year agoAccording to Mets manager Buck Showalter, first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) hit in the cage on Thursday. The 28-year-old has 22 home runs and 49 RBI in 62 games this season. Unfortunately, he suffered a bone bruise and sprain in his left wrist during a game against Atlanta, which is expected to keep him out for up to four weeks. That said, Alonso is moving in a favorable direction, especially since he was observed taking ground balls on Tuesday, so hopefully, he'll be back as soon as possible.
