Denver Broncos running back Samaje Perine had a handful of impressive performances last season with the Cincinnati Bengals, and he's slated to be a contributor in Sean Payton's offense led by Russell Wilson in 2023.
However, Perine is among running backs in the latest injury headlines, so we'll provide his latest injury update.
Is Perine healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Samaje Perine Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Perine (thumb) left practice on Wednesday because of a thumb injury. However, head coach Sean Payton downplayed the situation, stating, "I'm sure he'll be fine."
For now, there should be no fantasy takeaway, but make sure to stay updated as he undergoes further evaluation as the week wraps up.
Samaje Perine 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Perine, who signed a two-year, $7.5 million deal in the offseason, totaled 133 touches for 681 yards and six touchdowns with the Bengals last season. With Javonte Williams (knee) coming off a torn ACL and PCL, Perine has a path to the starting role early in the 2023 NFL season. Even when Williams comes back, he'll likely handle a limited workload, so Perine could maintain a fantasy-relevant touch-share throughout the year.
While Joe Mixon was banged up last year, Perine delivered performances of 30.2, 19.3, and 21.5 PPR fantasy points as a fill-in RB. That said, he has upside as a runner and pass-catcher -- making him an intriguing mid-t0-late round running back pick and zero-RB strategy building block.
The 27-year-old running back hasn't handled an overwhelming amount of touches in his six-year career, so if the Broncos' offense ascends, he could be a great value at his RB32-35 ADP in all formats.
