Pete Alonso Taking Grounders Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) is taking ground balls at first base on Tuesday. Alonso is on the injured list with a bone bruise and sprain in his left wrist, but he's already doing baseball activities. He is expected to miss three to four weeks, but fantasy managers have to be happy with the fact that he looks like he's already on track for a quick recovery. The 28-year-old All-Star has been one of the few bright spots for the disappointing Mets in 2023 and still leads the league with 22 home runs and 49 RBI in 62 games despite hitting only .231 (53-for-229). Keep Alonso stashed in all fantasy formats. Mark Canha and Mark Vientos should continue to keep splitting playing time at the cold corner in New York until Alonso returns from his injury.
