Jacob deGrom Has Successful Tommy John Surgery
2 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) had successful Tommy John surgery on Monday to fix a torn UCL in his right elbow, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The typical recovery time for the procedure is 12-14 months. The Rangers signed deGrom to a five-year, $185 million deal in free agency last winter after he was coming off two injury-plagued seasons with the New York Mets. The two-time Cy Young winner and four-time All-Star pitched well before his injury, striking out 45 with only four walks in 30 1/3 innings. At this point, it's becoming extremely hard to rely on deGrom because of all the injuries, and there's a good chance he won't be able to pitch at all in 2024. If you haven't already done so, go ahead and drop him in single-year fantasy leagues.
