Jon Gray Scratched From Tuesday's Start With Blister
2 years agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that starting pitcher Jon Gray (finger) will be scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels due to a blister. The move is mostly precautionary to prevent a bigger injury, and he's not expected to need a stint on the injured list. It's unknown who will start in Gray's place, but Cody Bradford is with the team in Arlington. It's a bummer for fantasy managers expecting to use Gray in their lineups this week, but hopefully he'll only end up missing the one start. The 31-year-old right-hander fanned 12 batters in a complete-game win his last time out against the St. Louis Cardinals. He's been great this year for Texas, going 6-2 with a career-best 2.32 ERA (4.17 FIP), 0.96 WHIP, 20 walks and 63 strikeouts in 73 2/3 frames over his 12 starts.
