Matt Vierling Could Return Monday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling (back) was in the team's clubhouse on Sunday and was set to meet with trainers and manager A.J. Hinch before the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. If he checked out fine, he could return from the 10-day injured list on Monday for the start of a series against the Atlanta Braves. The 26-year-old played two minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Toledo over the weekend and looks ready to return to the big-league roster. When he returns, Vierling should play regularly in Detroit's outfielder, although he's not much of a mixed-league asset in fantasy. Over his first 162 at-bats this year, Vierling is hitting a mediocre .241 with six doubles, four home runs, 15 RBI, four steals and 14 runs scored in 46 games played.
