Gary Sanchez Hitting Cleanup Again Saturday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Gary Sanchez is serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup on Saturday against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Sanchez has been a godsend for the Padres with many of their stars underperforming so far this year offensively. The 30-year-old Dominican backstop hit his fifth homer of the year in Friday's win over the Rockies at hitter-friendly Coors Field and has gone 10-for-34 (.294) with two doubles, five homers, 11 RBI and eight runs scored in his 10 games with the Friars. Fantasy managers in deep two-catcher leagues should continue to ride Sanchez while he's hot, but don't expect this type of performance to be sustained for too long.
