Jorge Polanco Lands On Injured List Again
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a left-hamstring strain. Polanco tweaked his hamstring on Thursday and will head back to the injured list after recently returning from it for the same injury. It's a disappointing development for the 29-year-old middle infielder, but fantasy managers in mixed leagues should keep him stashed and hope for a quick return. The 29-year-old switch-hitting Dominican has played in only 30 games so far this year, hitting .250 (30-for-120) with nine doubles, five home runs, 16 RBI and 11 runs scored. Infield prospect Edouard Julien was called up and is starting at second base and batting leadoff on Saturday against the Blue Jays and right-hander Trevor Richards. Julien should at least see playing time at the keystone against righties with Polanco out.
