Pete Alonso Day-To-Day After Being Hit By Pitch
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) was forced to leave Wednesday's game early against the Atlanta Braves after getting hit by a 97 mph fastball on the left wrist. Thankfully for the Mets and fantasy managers, Alonso's X-rays came back negative, and he's being considered day-to-day with a left-wrist contusion. Fantasy managers can let out a sigh of relief after the injury scare, but don't be surprised if the Polar Bear isn't in the lineup for the series finale against Atlanta on Thursday. Alonso didn't have an official at-bat in the game. The 28-year-old two-time All-Star entered the day with a .231 average (53-for-229) with four doubles, a triple, a league-high 22 home runs and a league-high 49 RBI in 61 games played. Alonso is a must-start anytime he's active.
