Deuce Vaughn 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Expected To Be Part Of The Action In Rookie Year
1 year agoDallas Cowboys running back Deuce Vaughn was the 212th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Given that the running back's father works as a scout for the team, Vaughn's selection by the Cowboys was a special moment. Given that the Cowboys released Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard will serve as the team's primary running back in 2023, and Vaughn will compete with Malik Davis and Ronald Jones to become the RB2 for the franchise. Vaughn ran a 4.6 40-yard dash at the combine, and with how he played in college, the 21-year-old RB could get a good amount of touches in a Dak Prescott-led offense. During his three years with Kansas State in college, Vaughn played 27 games, racking up 3,604 yards on 651 carries and scoring 34 touchdowns. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry and had nine receiving touchdowns during that span. Fantasy managers can get the Cowboys' rookie running back late in the draft, and he could be a solid option to roster if Vaughn can win the No. 2 spot on the Cowboys' RB depth chart.
