Quez Watkins 2023 Outlook: Premium WR Handcuff or Best Ball Dart Throw
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins has hauled in 76 passes for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns over the last two seasons. He hasn't been on the fantasy radar in shallow leagues, but one injury to A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith would make him a premier waiver wire add.The 4.35-speed receiver is a big play waiting to happen but has been buried behind Brown, Smith, and Dallas Goedert in the target pecking order. Philadelphia only added one notable WR to its group in Olamide Zaccheaus this offseason, so that should mean they're confident with Watkins at WR3. Banking on injuries isn't smart for fantasy football success, but stashing upside that could be unlocked in the case of an injury could be a league-winning formula. If Watkins plays a handful of games as one of the Eagles' top-two wideouts, he will have WR2/WR3 upside. His splash-play skill set also makes him an intriguing late-round best ball option.
