Triston McKenzie To Make Season Debut Sunday
2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie (shoulder) will come off the injured list and make his season debut this Sunday in the series finale against the Minnesota Twins. McKenzie has yet to pitch in 2023 after straining a teres major muscle in his right shoulder at the end of spring training. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up five runs on nine hits (three homers) while walking four and striking out 13 in three minor-league rehab starts for Triple-A Columbus. McKenzie had a breakout season for the Guardians in 2022 with an ERA under 3.00, a 0.95 WHIP and 190 strikeouts in 191 1/3 innings pitched, so he should be rostered in all fantasy leagues now that he's about to be back in Cleveland's rotation.
