Edouard Julien Optioned To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins optioned rookie infielder Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday to make room for second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) on the active roster after his return from the 10-day injured list. It's a tough break for the 24-year-old prospect, who MLB Pipeline has ranked as the team's No. 4 prospect, but he was hitting .210 (13-for-62) overall with two doubles, four home runs and eight RBI in his first 19 MLB contests. Julien will head back to the minors so that he can play regularly, but if the Twins need another infielder again, he might be their first call. The left-handed hitter combines a patient approach at the plate with above-average power for a second baseman.
