Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado Resting
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and third baseman Nolan Arenado are both taking the day off on Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Luke Weaver. Fantasy managers will need to make sure both All-Star players are on their benches on Thursday for a matinee contest. Goldy has been his usual awesome self in 2023 with a .292 average (56-for-192) with 16 doubles, nine home runs, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases in 50 games. Arenado, meanwhile, has also been highly productive with a .264 average (52-for-197) with five doubles, a triple, nine home runs and 34 RBI in 49 games. Alec Burleson is starting at first base and hitting fifth on Thursday, while Brendan Donovan gets the nod at the hot corner and is batting third against Weaver.
