2 years agoThanks to his Daytona 500 victory in 2022, Austin Cindric is locked into the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro on Sunday night, but that doesn't mean he's going to be competitive. Cindric has struggled at similar tracks this season--particularly Richmond and Martinsville--and is currently just struggling overall, with no finish better than 19th since March. In his Heat Race on Saturday night, Cindric started 7th and finished 9th in the 11-car field, and he will start from 17th (out of 24) in Sunday night's main event. It would be incredibly surprising if Cindric is even close to competing for the win. In All-Star practice this weekend, Cindric ranked 27th out of 36 cars when it came to ten-lap average.--Jordan McAbee
