Nick Pivetta Moving To Multi-Inning Relief Role
2 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that right-hander Nick Pivetta is heading to the bullpen to serve as a multi-inning reliever. "It's where we're at. We're getting healthy. We have a lot of starters. Just dominate your role. We've seen him do it before," Cora said. Left-handed veteran James Paxton is healthy for now and youngster Brayan Bello has earned his spot in the starting rotation, so the struggling Pivetta becomes the odd man out. With the move to a multi-inning relief role, Pivetta can probably be dropped in most fantasy formats for the time being. The 30-year-old Canadian is currently sporting a rough 6.30 ERA (5.78 FIP), 1.55 WHIP, 19 walks and 42 strikeouts in 40 innings over his eight starts for Boston.
