Eloy Jimenez Hopes To Return By Next Weekend
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (appendix) said he felt like he "was going to die" when he woke up with intense pain caused by appendicitis. Jimenez is feeling good now, though, and is running and playing catch. After a minor-league rehab assignment, he's hoping to be ready to return from the 10-day injured list potentially by next weekend. The 26-year-old had an appendectomy on May 6 and was originally expected to miss over a month of action for the White Sox. Chicago needs a healthy Jimenez back in order to turn things around this year. Before he landed on the injured list, he was hitting .258 (25-for-97) with four doubles, four home runs, 15 RBI and 12 runs scored in 25 games played.
