2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Tyler Mahle (elbow) will have season-ending Tommy John surgery, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. Mahle landed on the 15-day injured list on May 3 and will now miss the rest of 2023 and likely half of the 2024 campaign. It's a disappointing finish to the season for the 28-year-old right-hander, as Mahle had a 3.16 ERA (4.25 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, five walks and 28 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings over his five starts for the Twins before injuring his right elbow. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues can safely drop Mahle to the waiver wire.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
