Martin Truex Jr. Looking For Back-to-Back Wins After Snapping Winless Streak
2 years agoLast weekend at Dover, it was Martin Truex, Jr. in victory lane, which snapped a 54-race winless streak for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. That vaulted Truex into 4th-place in the points standings, just 40 points behind leader Ross Chastain. This weekend we're at Kansas Speedway and Truex should be able to contend for the win again. Over the last six races at Kansas, Truex has a series-best average finish of 6.0, and over his last 12 starts here, he's finished 9th or better 11 times--including two wins back in 2017. Truex qualified 4th for this weekend's race (the highest Toyota) and looked strong in practice, posting the 2nd-best 15-lap average behind his teammate, Denny Hamlin.
