2 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz is not in Wednesday's starting lineup against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Kyle Wright. The 26-year-old gets a breath amid a big slump that's seen him record just two hits -- both singles -- over his last 29 trips to the plate while he's racked up an eye-popping 17 strikeouts in that time. He also has 11 punchouts over his last 17 plate appearances with one hit in that span. For the season, De La Cruz is hitting .253 with two home runs, one stolen base, and a .662 OPS across 102 trips to the plate. Jesus Sanchez will slide over to left field in De La Cruz's stead while Garrett Hampson enters the lineup and will man right field.--Brenton Kemp
