2 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas is not in Tuesday's starting lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays and left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. It's not a terribly big surprise to see the lefty-swinging youngster get the night off against a left-handed pitcher but it's certainly been a struggle for the 23-year-old so far this season. Casas is hitting a measly .128 with three home runs and a .563 OPS across 96 trips to the plate. While he's flashed some pop in his young big-league tenure, Casas is hitting just .162 across 53 games since debuting in the 2022 campaign and didn't hit for a ton of average throughout his minor-league tenure, either. Justin Turner will take over at first base and hit second against Kikuchi Tuesday night.--Brenton Kemp
