2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (groin) allowed four earned runs over 5 ⅔ IP in his rehab outing on Sunday, finishing with 89 pitches thrown. Although he allowed four runs, he managed to strike out nine and walk only one batter. He could be activated as early as Friday against Detroit if the Cardinals decide he is ready to go. At this point in his career, Wainwright is more of a deep league play or streamer than a must-roster pitcher. He should still manage to keep his ERA down and have a decent WHIP, but he won't offer many strikeouts.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
