Joe Musgrove To Make Season Debut Saturday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (shoulder, toe) is healthy and fully built up and will come off the injured list to make his 2023 season debut on Saturday on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to manager Bob Melvin. Musgrove's return will push Yu Darvish back to Sunday in the series finale. Musgrove initially fractured his left big toe in a weight-room accident in spring training and recently dealt with a minor right shoulder injury. The 30-year-old didn't look very great in two minor-league rehab starts, but the Padres and fantasy managers are just happy to have him back in action. When healthy, Musgrove proved last year he could be a high-end fantasy starter, but perhaps fantasy managers should be a bit more careful early on when deploying him in starting lineups.
