Hunter Greene Signs Six-Year Extension
2 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene has agreed to a long-term extension with the organization. The two sides have come to terms on a six-year, $53 million contract extension. This new deal will buyout the first two seasons of Greene's free agency years. It's worth noting that this deal also includes a $21 million club option for a seventh season. On paper, this looks like a deal that is smart for both the organization and for Greene. The right-hander has been decent through his first four starts of the season. The 23-year-old does have ace-like potential, so this could end up being a great deal for the Reds.
