Antti Raanta Collects Victory In Game 1
2 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 25 of 26 shots on goal in Monday's 2-1 victory against the Islanders in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. Raanta earned the start over goaltender Frederik Andersen and made the most of it, as he improved to a perfect record of 7-0-0 with a 1.16 goals-against average, a .958 save percentage and one shutout in eight postseason home games dating back to the start of last season's playoffs. Raanta had a great performance and only surrendered a goal at even-strength in the closing minutes of the second period. Raanta will be back in the crease at home in Game 2 on Wednesday night as the Hurricanes attempt to take command of the series.
