2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (hamstring) was never medically cleared to play, Pelicans executive vice president David Griffin has clarified. Williamson was seen throwing down windmill dunks ahead of last week's play-in game against the Thunder, and when asked about his status, Williamson said that he can "pretty much do everything", but according to Griffin, the top pick of the 2019 draft was never cleared to play five-on-five basketball. Injuries have limited Zion to just 114 appearances during his three seasons in the league. He played only 29 games this season, last appearing on Jan. 2. When healthy, Williamson has shown massive upside, and he averaged 26.0 points per game with 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 2022-23.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
