Masataka Yoshida Hitting Sixth Sunday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida (hamstring) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth on Sunday against left-hander Reid Detmers and the Los Angeles Angels in the series finale. Yoshida battled some hamstring tightness earlier this week, but he's back in the lineup and ready to go against a left-hander on Sunday. Boston is easing him back into action in the DH spot, but we should expect the 29-year-old Japanese slugger to return to the outfield early next week. Rob Refsnyder is starting in left field and batting third, while Justin Turner is at first base and hitting second in the batting order for Boston. Yoshida has hit just .216 (8-for-37) in his first 10 big-league games with a double, home run, six RBI, two stolen bases and eight runs scored.
