Kyle Finnegan Earns Save On Monday
2 years agoWashington Nationals right-hander Kyle Finnegan recorded the save on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels after pitching a clean ninth inning where he struck out one and didn't allow a baserunner. It's his second save of the season, and he now leads Nationals arms in the category. However, Finnegan's usage has been a bit unconventional, as he pitched the eighth inning on Saturday while Carl Edwards Jr. picked up the save. The 32-year-old has been a trusted reliever for a couple of seasons now, though, and posted a 3.51 ERA in 2022. Finnegan hasn't been as successful thus far in 2023, posting an 11.81 ERA with three strikeouts and a 2.06 WHIP across 5.1 innings, but assuming that regresses, fantasy managers should expect him to get the majority of save opportunities.
