Andrew Painter Plays Catch On Monday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Andrew Painter (elbow) was able to play catch on Monday. This was the first time that the right-hander has been able to throw since suffering a right elbow sprain at the beginning of March. The Phillies have been extremely cautious with their top pitching prospect. He'll likely be eased into bullpen sessions before facing live hitters. It sounds like the team is optimistic that Painter will be able to contribute to the big league roster at some point this season. However, it's too early to tell what his timetable to return might be right now.
