Carlos Correa Not Playing Sunday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is getting a breather on Sunday against the Houston Astros. It will be Correa's first day off on the young season. The 28-year-old could use the day off, too, as he's gone only 6-for-33 (.182) in the first eight games of the year with two doubles, no home runs, two RBI, two runs scored, three walks and 10 strikeouts in 36 plate appearances. Correa will pick things up eventually, but it's a good time for him to take a day off early on. In his absence Sunday, Kyle Farmer will draw the start at shortstop and hit sixth in the lineup against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. Farmer has hit much better than Correa to this point, going 7-for-20 (.350) with a double, home run, five RBI and six runs scored in seven games played.
