Ilya Sorokin Stays Hot With A Shutout
2 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin logged his 10th victory in 14 starts with a 27-save shutout Saturday against Philadelphia. A 4-0 victory helped the Islanders to keep ahold of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. With the team needing to stay fully focused for the final few games of the regular season, Sorokin is set to continue to play a key role during the final week of action. He's been the backbone of the team, going 30-21-7 for the season, while giving up 2.33 goals per game with a .925 save percentage. Sorokin has the third-highest save percentage in the league and sits at the top of the pile with six shutouts.
