2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz (face) returned to the starting lineup on Friday against the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Lucas Giolito, starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff. Cruz was removed from the game early on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox after he collided with third baseman Rafael Devers on a slide into third base late in the game. The 24-year-old had the day off on Thursday, though, and was good to go for Friday's series opener against the White Sox. Cruz is one of the best young shortstops in the game and entered Friday's contest with a .261 average (6-for-23) with a double, home run, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in six games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
