Kyle Freeland Shuts Down Nationals Thursday
2 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland pitched a gem Thursday, picking up his second win of the season in a 1-0 pitcher's duel against the Washington Nationals. Freeland allowed four hits and two walks while striking out five over 6 ⅔ innings. The lefty has now thrown 12 ⅔ scoreless innings to begin his 2023 campaign, results which will likely see his roster percentage soar in the coming days. Buyer beware though, as Freeland induced only four whiffs today and had a paltry 17% CSW. The ugly underlying stats combined with his home park being Coors Field makes it difficult to trust what Freeland is doing right now, but in the right matchup on the road he could be useful.
