Carlos Estevez Was Rested Wednesday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Phil Nevin said that he wanted relief pitcher Carlos Estevez to have another day off on Wednesday since he had pitched on Sunday and Monday. It's why Jose Quijada picked up the save in the 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. When he's available, Estevez is going to be the Angels' primary closer, so fantasy managers shouldn't necessarily be running out to the waiver wire to grab Quijada after his save on Wednesday. The 30-year-old Estevez doesn't have a save yet for the Halos, but he has tossed two shutout innings while walking two and walking three in the early going. After two days of rest, he will be available heading into the weekend if a save situation arises again for the Angels. If anything were to happen to Estevez this year, Quijada and Jimmy Herget could share save opportunities.
