Kurt Kitayama Hopes To Impress In Masters Debut
2 years agoThe Masters hasn't been all that kind to debutants throughout history, but given Kurt Kitayama's recent profile, it's difficult to completely count out the 30-year-old Californian. Kitayama possesses some of the fastest clubhead speed on the PGA Tour, and his bomb-and-gouge strategy should be tailor-made for a bomber's paradise like Augusta National. Kitayama has used his combination of power off the tee and stellar long-iron play to rack up a win last month at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, as well as three second-place finishes at big courses like Congaree, the Renaissance Club, and Vidanta Vallarta. At another long, difficult golf course this week, Kitayama has some underrated upside with the weapons he possesses.
